The Love Illusion
The Love Illusion
There has been a significant increase in male social isolation. More guys lack emotional support, experience less dating and more disconnection from socializing, along with more vaping and more porn, which is linked to higher rates of depression, and anxiety. This trend is well supported by research.
Significant changes in the dating scene. Men and women no longer approach dating and relationships with the same expectations.
Confusing sexual validation with personal worth. She can receive large amounts of attention and validation without any real achievement.
As a result, a woman with little to offer beyond sex (no emotional maturity, no self-awareness, no empathy, no integrity, no communication skills, no accountability, no respect, no warmth, no stability...) may see herself as a high-value partner.
Many men are willing to sleep with her, but most have no intention of committing or building a relationship. They simply want sex. When she mistakes that sexual attention for genuine interest, she overestimates her relationship value and the number of high-quality relationship options she actually has.
This false data makes her overestimate her relationship value, leading her to believe she deserves a partner who is far above what she can realistically attract for a long-term relationship.
Social media fills her feed with idealized relationships featuring emotionally mature men who always understand her, meet her every emotional need, communicate perfectly, and constantly exceed her expectations. At the same time, it bombards her with images of luxury vacations, expensive cars, beautiful homes, and seemingly perfect lives; all presented as being provided by that same man. After seeing this over and over, she starts expecting an average man to be a super human.
The culture rewards validation-seeking and the belief that "I deserve better. The fact that I am a woman is enough. My super-power is me being a woman".
And finally the baggage from past relationships and one night stands: Past failed relationships and geting used and dumped by guys heavily shape how she approaches men.
Over time, disappointment, resentment, and distrust build.
She is no longer looking for connection, romance, or getting to know someone. The focus shifts to what she can get from the next man.
The mindset is no longer, "Let's see if we're a good match." It becomes, "This guy needs to make up for the years I lost.
He needs to compensate for my past disappointments and mistakes. He needs to give me the life I wanted." Instead of starting with a clean slate, she brings the emotional baggage from previous relationships into every new one.
The 4 above create hostility, emotional aggression, dismissive, demeaning, and unappreciative behavior toward men.
Dating becomes not worthwhile and in most cases the payoff of investing in her isn't worth the pursuit, effort, time, and energy.
Most guys isolate, starving to be liked or validated, desperate for sex and connection.
Obsessing over an ex he idolized who resents him.
And many remain trapped in bad relationships because they're afraid they won't be able to replace their partner
Meanwhile the media, peers, and the failed culture keep shoving the idea of love down his throat and fill his heads with false beliefs about what love really is. After the relationship ends, he thinks, "We were in love," when, in reality, he was emotionally dependent, lonely, and unknowingly using the relationship to regulate his emotions.
The relief you feel from your loneliness when she's around is not love.
Her feeding your starvation for being liked is not love.
Her feeding your deep hunger for a connection is not love.
Sex with her is not love.
Her giving you attention and validating you is not love.
Her easing your desperate need to calm your fear of life is not a romantic connection.
Using her for emotional regulation is not love.
If your nervous system crashes when she pulls away, you lose sleep, can't eat, and lose yourself, that's emotional dependency; not love.
Relief, validation, and comfort feel like love. These are functional solutions to internal emotional needs, fear, and loneliness.
Love is something else.
When you're in love, yes you are sad withiut her but your sense of self, safety, worth, and stability remain completely intact. Your life has a backbone (purpose) and peace; so it exists whether you are single or in a relationship. Loving her only "adds" to your happiness.
Something most guys find difficult to accept—because they have been taught the opposite for years—is that romantic love as the foundation of marriage is a recent cultural idea that now supports a massive part of the economy.
Marriage, divorce, and everything built around them generate billions of dollars in tax revenue every year.
Marriage is at least 4,000 years in documented history, and it originally developed primarily as
Legal institution to organize families,
inheritance
Property
Alliances
Legitimacy of children
It was not a union based on romantic love. Let is sink for a second.
When did exclusive romantic relationships come in?
The Western ideal of exclusive romantic love began in the 12th century (about 900 years ago) with the tradition of courtly love in medieval Europe. The idea that marriage should be based primarily on romantic love became widespread much later, especially during the 18th and 19th centuries (about 200–300 years ago).
Most people never realize that their natural human needs for validation, intimacy, sex, attention, and connection have been hijacked by the business of love and marriage.
Another person can never be the backbone of your life long term.
Another person can never be the source of your happiness.
Another person can never be the source of your confidence long term.
All of these are unfinished business you need to take care of, regardless of her.
If you continue to seek relief in her, if you don't accept that the role of a woman is not to save you or calm your pain, and if you don't accept responsibility for your feelings, you will always be a hostage in your own emotional cage.
There are several solutions. I mention one of the main options here. You have these 8 needs that you are trained to outsource to a woman. You need to fulfil them without dependign on her.
Safety – feeling secure, protected, and emotionally stable.
Connection / Belonging – feeling close to, accepted by, and part of relationships or a community.
Love and Affection – giving and receiving care, warmth, and intimacy.
Significance / Self-Worth – feeling valued, respected, and that you matter.
Control – feeling you have agency over your own life and decisions.
Competence / Growth – feeling capable, improving, and making progress.
Purpose / Meaning – feeling your life has direction and a reason beyond immediate pleasure.
Play / Enjoyment – experiencing fun, curiosity, and positive emotions.
Build Power to Serve Instead Of Aiming To Find A Wife
Most men who become emotionally dependent aren't just missing a relationship; they're missing a purpose. They feel like they don't matter, they don't contribute. When your life is built around meaningful work, improving yourself, and serving others, you stop looking to a woman to give your life meaning.
Focus on building wealth, long-term physical strength, and social skills. That combo gives you control and power to build communities and serve... so you can actively heal the pain in the world.
Direct your resources to eliminate misery, anxiety, and sadness. Bring happiness and strength to others through action and service. Your life will become so rich in every way. Most people just take, and aim to take and feed their negative emotions and so they stay stuck. The kind of things you want come to you out of abundance, not desperation to fill a lack.
Love her unconditionally but don't become emotionally dependent on her; even if she's your wife. There will be times when she is warm and caring, and other times when she is distant, stressed, or hard to understand. If your happiness depends on her always being loving, available, or calm, you will live on an emotional roller coaster. Love her deeply, but don't make her mood your anchor. If your life is empty and you don't have your own goals and strength, she will become your whole world, and that is where you start to lose yourself. The more dependent you become, the more pain you will feel, and the more pressure you will put on the relationship.
