Each man has his edge. For some, it’s building wealth, attracting women with ease, sharp decision-making, natural leadership, persuasive communication.
With that said, no matter how much you know and how many skills you have, there is always a next level.
The one unique skill that I want to share with you today is Past Control (Sounds like Pest Control).
It’s the ability to build a big, thick, mega wall around the past and not visit it when you are dealing with the present. The ability to see what is in front of you without referencing the past.
Closeness and progress with a new woman collapse the moment you start measuring her against your past. The more you compare, the more you disconnect from what’s in front of you. It can take you to the point of isolation.
The fact is... no one is anyone else, and the past will not repeat itself the same way.
How to combat this?
A particular type of meditation. It’s a practice to build strong separation between where you are right now and the past. It works like this: Sit for 5 minutes, one hand on your chest and one on your belly, and you focus only on your breath. No thoughts are welcome. This is not the type of meditation that you let your mind do what it wants. This is 5 minutes of forced block. All the attention on your breath.
This is the same as building muscles at the gym.
Doin this practise gives you the ability to stay focused and not compare.
1 side domintaes the other. It's you Vs your mind.
This is just another tool to design the next chapter.
Some decisions have to be made. For example, I never do cocaine, I never steal, and I never harm anyone.
You know you won’t do those things no matter what because you’ve made them non-negotiable. It’s the same with Past Control. I just don’t go there anymore... ever again. Once the decision is made, the rest will follow.
Most guys get a sense of comfort from the familiarity of the past, and that’s why they stay stuck. Being able to let it go is a real skill.
The one who got away can be a one-second thought or every second of your future. Manythings summorize in 1 word; control.
